Have you been to IKEA lately?
They charged us 5 cents for a plastic bag. Michael went to buy candles and pillows, and came back with all that and a 5 cent plastic bag.

IKEA is the new Starbucks - consumption with a conscience. They donate those five cents to an environmental cause. To offset the damage, presumably, that might be inflicted on the environment by the haphazard continued use of such plastic bags -- which probably cost a thousandth of a cent each, imported en masse from some other international economy. Sounds like a profit center, eh? Possibly one involving some kind of charitable write-off?

But not to be cynical… Leave me to my own conscience, please. I was just after the candles, really. Let me save the world on my own dime. I’ll need that nickel back, though…

We all went to Ladera Rach to celebrate Cassy's coming of age. It was a great party and Cassy was surrounded by everyone who loved her. What better way to welcome in the next year of life.

Clear Lake Weekend !!!!

I flew up to Sac Thursday night to visit Matt.

We went to FACES straight from the airport...

WOW!!!
Who's idea was it to put a pool in a bar, and what must the insurance premium be?

Matt flagged. We had a blast!!!

We ditched Gypsy Soul, Matt's new (semi-functional) sailboat.

Then headed up the moutain to Clear Lake. We wanted to surprise Angela at her new place. There’s nothing like a group of great friends getting together and catching up.

Angela’s new place was great. Right on the lake with its own dock. I can't believe we left Matt's new sailboat in Sac! Well, next time (I Love You Matt!!!)

We bought Stella with us; she managed not to toss on the curvy road up the mountain. She was excited because she knew Pepper would be at the end of the road.

Laura Flew down from Alaska and rented a cool convertible. She stopped by Chico to pick up Pepper the pooch. Pepper has become so attached to Laura, it's scary..and cute.
Pepper loves the water but Stella was playing it safe. We had lunch at Molly Brennan’s Irish Pub - the local hang out for Saint Patty's weekend.

We then headed over to Guerneville and had lunch at the Russian River Resort RRRRRR.

Flew back this morning and made it to work on time. (This doesn't qualify me as a Victor) it sucks!!

I test drove one of these last night and I completely recommend it. Aesthetically not so great, but if you want to feel like you are being held by a trusted friend and you have the space for it this is the chair for you.

Did everyone see LOST last night John Locke threw Mickael into a force field that protected the compound? Poor Mickael got his brains fried. Ouch! But this isn’t the first time Lock has screwed up, nor the second. First, he’s gotta stop pushing buttons. Second, Enter 77. Locke just stop, and think when you get those impulses!

Gemini David came over tonight and experienced the magic of waking life. Marlene was a cat absorbing the KNOWledge. Well, with a lot of petting.

Good time last night Marlene, Jesse, Howie and I went to Ferdussi and had some awesome Persian food for Marlene’s birthday. We had a great view of Craig’s parking lot. It was interesting watching the line form as everyone was trying to get their chance at winning millions. We came home hung out and watched Dirt..

Great episode, child star Sammy Winter takes the Dirt staff hostage. As the SWAT team surrounds the building he opens his jacket to reveal explosives strapped to him and demands a cover story and feature article all about him and how he’s the most misinterpreted person in the world. By far my favorite part was the interaction in the supply room when Cleaning lady Maria along with Brent and Willa get trapped. Sammy doesn’t know they are there but Willa starts to panic and is about to blow their cover. Brent was no help especially since he’s trying to hold on to a 3 inch butt plug that Willa happily reveals to Maria while they are huffing cleaning products trying to remain calm while the action is going on outside. In the end Brent stands up and saves Lucy’s life. Unfortunately he looses his plug and it slides down his pant leg and hits the floor He casually kicks it to the side. Classic!!! In the middle of it all Sammy was feeling ignored and needed to regain the respect of his hostages so he kills poor Kenny. Bye Kenny I’ll really miss him.

Soooo ..... I guess this means I have to go to work today?

Howie and I just got back!!!!

from a 4 week vacation in the Philippines. It was great to see the family again...ate mangoes almost everyday and fresh vegetables from our backyard! Howie adapted well to his new environment. My family just adored him! He loved the SanMig Lite Beer. We visited some white sand beaches.

We rented a pump boat for $16 a day and went island hopping. It was fabulous! We collected some seashells too. I taught Howie how to play sungka, a great filipino game using seashells. We also appeared in a local TV program, the Wowowee Noon time Show and I won a jacket for dancing the doodoo doo and the dah dah dah dance.....Howie did a shout out to Jesse and Michael.

This was our last day in Manila (really it's in Makati at a department store chain called Shoemart).

Ain't no mountain high enough!!!!!




















Jesse and I decided that we would tackle Indian Canyons in Palm Springs for my 40th birthday. I think he wanted to see if my heart could take it... We got up a few thousand feet and both of us agreed that it was going to be just as long of a trip down as it was up and we promptly about-faced.

I picked a really comfy, safe place to take a nap b4 the trek down.

I love you Palm Springs.
